Youstart, a government initiative to mitigate unemployment amongst the youth in the country by providing and enhancing their managerial skills and providing financial assistance to them commenced the district Basic Stage training Monday, 8th May, 2023 in the Akuapim South Municipal Assembly.
The training took place at the Saakwabea Plaza and spanned over two weeks from 9am to 4pm each day. Participants were split into two batches. Each batch was trained for a week. The training was facilitated by Empretec Ghana. Participants were trained in courses such as Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and Kaizen.
The training was opened on the first day by Ms. Lydia Akueteh, the Municipal Coordinating Director) who encouraged participants to take advantage of the training and make the most out of it. She further advised them not to be so much focused on the grant but rather focus on the training as that will improve on their skills in managing a business.
Some staff of the Municipal Assembly, the Eastern Regional Manager of GEA, Mr. Eric Obeng, the Director of GEA, Madam Joise-Noelle Quartey-Papafio and some other staff of GEA paid visits to encourage the participants.
Certificates were awarded on the final day of training to all participants.
